Anyone used these recone kits on ebay?
Altec 604E & 605 speakers re-cone kit (16 ohms) | eBay
They are stamped with factory codes 21184-2. Interesting. Obviously they are reproductions and not originals. Just makes me wonder about other speakers out there with "original cones"

This MW mystery was discussed in this link. Apparently somebody traced it back to an outfit named "making waves" from Arizona.

Interesting AK thread. And also the hostboard thread linked within. I guess the location of the codes and the second set of codes on there would be a dead giveaway they are reproductions.
I'm always a little suspicious of original cones. Just because the cone is original doesn't mean the VC is. I know a guy who could take them apart and just change the VC, leaving the original cone intact. Not saying I would have that done, but if someone were trying to sell an valuble woofer with the original cone....
